The AUM Speech and Hearing Clinic a teaching clinic in that students in the Communication Disorders program are required to perform hands-on speech therapy to our clients while under the supervision of a certified audiologist or speech-language pathologist. Students are required to complete two practicum courses in Audiology (CMDS 4601 and CMDS 4621), which mandates a total of 10 hours of clinical time.
For Speech-Language Pathology, students perform one Observation in Speech course (CMDS 4911) for 25 hours of clinical observation and three semesters of a practicum course (CMDS 4914) in which students receive a total of 60 hours of hands-on clinical experience.
