We are home to Alabama’s only Virtual Avatar Laboratory, a mixed-reality platform (blend of artificial intelligence and live actors) that delivers powerful simulations mimicking the most challenging interactions teachers face on the job.
Both AUM College of Education students and community members benefit from the AUM Early Learning Center, a model training site and professional development school for future teachers. Children enrolled are from diverse racial groups/ethnic backgrounds and have varied academic/social needs.
The College of Education is accredited by the National Council for the Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE), the Council for Accreditation of Counseling & Related Educational Programs (CACREP) and all its programs are approved by the Alabama Department of Education.
Secondary English is accredited by the National Council of Teachers of English (NCTE), the Early Childhood ALT A master’s program is accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC), and the Instructional Technology Master’s program is accredited by the International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE).

Please note that comments must address substantive matters related to the quality of professional education programs offered, and should specify the party’s relationship to the provider (i.e., graduate, present or former faculty member, employer of graduates).
